    Sepia. Eight passengers aboard the Bon Temps. Before Naples became accessible by road and railroad, visitors, supplies and mail reached town almost entirely by water. During the tourist season, the Naples Hotel's boat, the Bon Temps, made daily trips to Ft. Myers. The boat was skippered by Captain Charles W. Stewart until 1915.

She sat there and cried and wouldn't go away from her former home. The Red Cross is buying him a second hand trailer. He lost everything but 27 cents. Even lost his glasses but the Red Cross bought him a new pair."

You can see the shrimp boat across the river. It washed up from downtown. It was the only shrimp boat damaged beacuse they took the others to islands and tied them up."

You can also notice the ropes Al had across the top of the trailer. He tied the uprights together over the top and underneath. You can see the cement blocks and bricks in the driveway. Not one floated away."

In fact tore one pole completely out and crumpled a Fla room up that they had on the other side - Al had put his tool box, gas tank, etc in the Florida room and it all floated up the river. A fellow from town found them in the swamp about 5...
