    B&W. Typed caption included with copy print reads "The two-story Everglades Inn as it looked in 1926. It was built to house the white collar workers brought to Everglades to build the Tamiami Trail and to work on other Collier projects. It was a shelter for all of the people living in Everglades during the hurricane in September of 1926. By 1928 it had become a 3-story building, and is still a prominent landmark in Everglades."
