Christmas 1947 In Charge Deaconess Bedell Typed announcement discusses that the Mission car was laden with gifts and was seen going twenty miles on the Tamiami Trail, then 14 miles over the bridge to Marco Island where the Church ministers to the white fisher folk, Mission of Our Saviour; 200 Indians gathered for St. John's Day at the Mission Village for gifts and a short service interpreted by Cory Osceola; and sponsorships by the Collier Corporation, nearby traders and individual friends. |
