Plastic nameplate reading "Mamie B. Tooke, Chairman of the Board". Brown plastic with white lettering. Mamie assumed role as President of The Bank of Naples in 1954 when her husband Clarence died. This was a first for a woman in the State of Florida. The Bank of Naples merged with Barnett Bank in 1974-5. In 1979, Mamie was named Chairman of the Board and CEO. She remained in the business for 30 years and retired on December 31, 1991. |
