Brass bell with metal hanging device (painted yellow); clapper has device for attaching string or wire to sound bell; clapper attached at top with hexagonal nut; in pencil on hanging device reads "The 'Useppa''s" Ship Bell. Donor reports that bell was removed from ship as it sat on the Barron River in 1948. Ship purportedly used to haul supplies during 1920s and later sunk as reef replenishment. |
