    Seminole patchwork apron. Cotton apron with bands of variously colored cloth, red predominantly. Bands are plain with one (upper) representing "fire" and the other (lower) representing "tree" or "telephone". Donor Ann White purchased the apron from Deaconess Harriet Bedell.

    Brass bell with metal hanging device (painted yellow); clapper has device for attaching string or wire to sound bell; clapper attached at top with hexagonal nut; in pencil on hanging device reads "The 'Useppa''s" Ship Bell. Donor reports that bell was removed from ship as it sat on the Barron River in 1948. Ship purportedly used to haul supplies during 1920s and later sunk as reef replenishment.

    Souvenir toy. Carved wooden canoe with wooden figure paddling with metal paddle (metal arms). Figure is wearing coconut strands hair and costume. Top of canoe is painted in Seminole patterns. Canoe is pointed at bow & stern. Donor says his dad bought the toy from Deaconess Bedell at the Glade Cross Mission in Everglades City; and that it was made by Frog.

    Wooden nameplate with applied wood letters reading "Mamie B. Tooke," circa 1979. Sign under name reads "Chairman of the Board". Two pen holders on each side on reverse. Mamie assumed role as President of The Bank of Naples in 1954 when her husband Clarence died. This was a first for a woman in the State of Florida. Mamie assumed role as President of The Bank of Naples in 1954 when her husband Clarence died. This was a first for a woman in the State of Florida. The Bank of Naples merged with Barnett Bank in 1974-5. In 1979, Mamie was named Chairman of the Board and CEO. She remained in the business for 30 years and retired on December 31, 1991.
